Thrown on the wheel in speckled stoneware and a pulled handle, painted with slips and underglazes. Glaze fired to 1250°C. The decoration has been over painted with 24carat gold lustre and re fired in the kiln.
This candlestick has slight surface cracks in the porcelain on the handle and main body join, see closeups. Purely aesthetic.
Handwash only, do not use abrasive surfaces or products on the gold. To removed wax hand wash with hot soapy water and a sponge. The iron in the clay can cause the surface to be rough in parts, and small bits of superficial crazing are dotted around.
