A generously sized large serving dish, wheel-thrown in speckled stoneware, with pulled scroll handles and painted by hand in porcelain slip with a rich cobalt blue.

Occasionally, small patches of rough texture may appear where basalt in the clay body surfaces—part of the character of this handmade piece. As with all handmade work, each piece is entirely its own: small variations and gentle imperfections are part of the process, not in spite of it. Where the glaze sits thicker, you may notice some natural crazing over time (see pics)

Ideal as a centrepiece, serving platter, fruit bowl, or used for forced bulbs like Paperwhites.

While stoneware is oven safe it doesn’t like heat shock, so don’t heat or cool quickly, i.e. from fridge to oven or from oven to cold tap.
