My influences are broad — essentially a cumulative love of the history of ceramics: 12th–17th century Persian painted pottery, Iznik Ottoman ceramics, Imari ware, Delft ware, the forms and traditions of British studio and medieval pottery. A magpie's hoard. What connects them, I think, is a love of the handmade mark: the evidence that someone, somewhere, made something alive with their hands.
Every piece is unique and will carry small imperfections. The iron in the clay can leave the surface rough in parts, this bowl has crazing (fine crackle glaze) dotted around.
Care: Handwash only.
