Wheel-thrown in speckled stoneware clay, hand-painted with porcelain slip and cobalt slip detail, then glaze-fired to 1250°C.

This large bowl is a good large size, perfect for fruit/ large salads or sitting decoratively on a side table. The design draws inspiration from ancient Greek, Roman, and Persian pottery. Every element has been painted freehand, with sgraffito detail etched in using a fine pin blade.

There is some slight crazing—very fine crackle lines from the glaze cooling quickly in the kiln. These are only visible in certain lights and do not affect the structure of the piece. Please see close up images for more details.

In addition to the crazing, there are two minor bloats on the outside caused by the basalt in the clay erupting under the slip (Pictured)
