One candlestick had a glaze defect in the side which I’ve filled with 24 carat gold lustre, It’s added some great character but sold as second. See images for closeup.
Thrown on the wheel in speckled stoneware, these large one-off candlesticks have been painted with slips and underglazes inspired by Ottoman Iznik 17thC pottery. Glaze fired to 1250°C. The decoration has been over-painted with 24carat gold lustre and re-fired in the kiln. This pair are not an exact match as each pot is individual.
Handwash only, do not use abrasive surfaces or products on the gold. To remove wax hand wash with hot soapy water and a sponge. Every piece is unique and will have little imperfections here and there.
