Green Leaf Pasta Bowl
Green Leaf Pasta Bowl
Wheel thrown in speckled stoneware clay, hand-painted in porcelain slip and green leaf underglaze. Glaze fired to 1250°C. Everyday versatile bowls, great for pasta and salads, but also make wonderful small serving bowls and many other uses I’m sure. These are a little bigger than my previous batches for any returning pasta bowl buyers.
Inspired by a 12thC Kashan bowl in the V&A, I’ve been playing with the leaf ideas for the last couple of years, all are individually hand-painted free hand with a natural haired brush.
Every piece is unique and will have little imperfections here and there. The iron in the clay can cause the surface to be rough in parts, and small bits of superficial crazing are dotted around.
