A large, expressive vase full of vitality and movement. Fired for over 86 hours in the groundhog style climbing wood kiln belonging to Nic Collins in Dartmoor. This piece was placed on its side during the firing, resting on scallop shells that have left their delicate imprints on the surface. Wood ash has fused with the shino glaze, creating glassy drips that flow down into the belly of the pot.
The vase is watertight and can be used both decoratively and functionally. Please note that remnants of the scallop shells have left some slightly sharp edges — best admired rather than handled too much by the underage or incautious.
