Wheel-thrown in speckled stoneware clay, hand-painted with porcelain slip and cobalt slip decoration, then glaze-fired to 1250°C.

Lovely medium vase that could hold a very large bunch of sweetpeas, a medium bunch of dahlias or roses etc, or an average bunch from the shops. Each vase is unique, with small variations and gentle imperfections that reflect the handmaking process. This glaze can have some crazing/crackling where it’s thicker and on this vase there is a little basalt eruption on the rim which is covered in a blob of glaze (see pics).
