Hand-built in speckled stoneware clay, painted in porcelain slip and cobalt slip detail. Glaze fired to 1250°C.

This big dish was made to hang on the wall or be used as a serving platter. Inspired by ancient, Roman/Greek and Persian pottery with some more delft ideas for the border every bit has been hand-painted freehand, with sgraffito detail etched in with a pin blade.  A plate hanger is included which can be fixed to the back.

Every piece is unique and will have little imperfections here and there, please see close-up pics for more details of the finish. The iron in the clay can cause the surface to be rough in parts. This platter has a slight wobble in the rim, although it sits flat and has a wabi sabi feel.
