Wheel thrown in speckled stoneware clay, hand-painted in porcelain slip and blue leaf cobalt slip. Glaze fired to 1250°C.

Inspired by a 12thC Kashan bowl in the V&A, I’ve been playing with the leaf ideas for the last couple of years, all are individually hand-painted freehand with a natural-haired brush.

Every piece is unique and will have little imperfections here and there, please see close-up pics for more details of the finish. The iron in the clay can cause the surface to be rough in parts. This watertight vase can be used for flowers or sitting proudly with its lid.
