Wheel-thrown in two parts using speckled stoneware clay, hand-painted with porcelain slip and underglaze/ copper oxide slip decoration, then glaze-fired to 1250°C. Overpainted with 24 carat gold lustre and fired again to 780°C. Inspired by Persian and Ottoman ceramics, the green looks extra special under sunlight.
Lovely big boy vase, sits very proudly and needs no flowers really, but is fully functional and water tight if you’ve got a v large arrangement. Each vase is unique, with small variations and gentle imperfections that reflect the handmaking process. This glaze can have some crazing/crackling where it’s thicker.
